Settings are nowhere to be found...need to install SVG preview extension

Hello, my name is Till…total noob to AtroDAM.

My DevOp installed the newest version of AtroDAM on a new VPS with nothing but AtroDAM on it.

After starting to upload our company ID assets, I noticed with disappointment that SVG files only show a generic icon. Since most of our site assets are SVGs and are often only differentiated my subtle differences, thumbnail previews of them are absolutely essential.

Apparently, there is an SVG Thumbnail Preview extension that can alleviate this situation, but there is no Settings > Extensions section to be found anywhere in our Admin Panel.

What could cause this and how to fix it? Is there some other way to enable this extension and if so, how?

Hello Till,

Currently, we do not have the ability to display previews for SVG vector images. But we plan to add this in the near future.

thanks for being the bearer of the bad news.

Such a bummer, as we’ll need to wipe the server and find another solution, then. “Near future” rarely means less than months, and we don’t have months. Truly unfortunate, as it took me days to find the AtroDAM solution and pay my DevOp to install and configure it…but so it goes.

Copilot mentioned an extension for this that can be installed via a place in Settings, but we couldn’t find a way to install extensions…what are we missing?

Anyway, on we go, searching for an alternative, then.

in this case “near future” means next 7 days :slight_smile:
There is and will be no extension for this or similar functionality.
By the way, AtroDAM does not exist anymore, it has been completely integrated into AtroCore.

So, in order to be able to use your DAM functionality, we have to run the entire family of Core services? I did look at the full install with my DevOp, and it’s a behemoth. Impressive stuff, don’t get me wrong, but total overkill for our modest needs.

We are a small startup, and i am not sure that I can stand behind a decision like this, since there are people on my team that don’t have the experience, skill, or patience to weed through the entirety if the AtroCore ecosystem just to access our digital assets.

Is there really no other alternative to installing and running the whole machineshop to use one toolbox?
